A healthier take on Pop-Tarts, these treats are baked from scratch with love. And it’s a super fun way to get kids involved in the kitchen!!
Make your pie crust from scratch for the healthiest option otherwise choose a ready to bake pie crust that has no artificial preservatives or hydrogenated oils or artificial colors.
INGREDIENTS:
Homemade or store bought pie crust
1/2 cup all natural jam
3/4 cup confectioners sugar
1/8 cup milk
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 400. Roll out dough. Use a heart shape cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Transfer 1/2 of the hearts to a SILPAT or baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread jam evenly over the shapes. Top with remaining cut out hearts. Press edges with fingers to seal. Chill 15 min.
Bake on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper for approx 15-20 min or until golden. Remove from oven & let cool.
Meanwhile, whisk powdered sugar & milk to make glaze. Brush over Pop-Hearts.
