A PAWfect Party at the Park!

I love hosting parties outside.  I know this comes with some weather anxiety, but with a back-up plan in place, outdoor parties are my favorite.  I love giving kids and opportunity to run and play and get some exercise.

Your backyard is always a great option, but I love the park down the street from us.  With swings and slides and picnic tables too, it is the perfect place to host a party.  Tying fun ribbon on twine and hanging from tree to tree added a festive party touch.

With Paw Patrol as our theme, the invites were an easy DIY!  I simply printed out the invites and then cut into the shape of a dog bone.  Using a hole punch and ribbon, it was Pawfectly easy to make these cute dog bone shaped invitations and the birthday girl even helped!

I picked up some inexpensive dog bowls for serving snacks.  Scooby Doo graham cracker snacks in the shape of bones were perfect and apple slices were an easy fruit although you could also use grapes, strawberries or really any fruit you prefer.  Just be sure to take into consideration the age of the kids and if it is easy to serve.

Mini hot dogs are always a kid favorite and cheese sticks mimicked dog bones.  Mini bottles of water are perfect for kids parties and home made cupcakes made to look like paw prints topped off the party theme.  Cut a big marshmallow in 1/2 and use 3 mini marshmallows to make a paw print on the cupcake.

And I always love a good party favor.  Big bouncy balls fit the theme perfect since every dog loves to play fetch!

I hope you have a PAWfect birthday party and tag #cookingfitchic With your party photos – I love seeing what my fans are up too!

Woof,

Heather
