BOO!  Looking for something fun to do with the kids for Halloween?  Host a Cupcake War Party.  And this party is easy to host outside if you prefer not to have anyone in your house.

I picked up Halloween buckets (aka bowls) at Target for $1 and got some “bones” to stir the cupcake batter with. Everyone drew #’s and then got to pick one box of cupcake mix that they wanted to use.  I had the eggs and oil pre-measured to keep it organized and clean.  Using plastic table clothes from Target made clean up SUPER easy!!

Each “baker” got to mix their own cupcake batter and could only use someone’s else’s cupcake flavor if that Baker ok’ed it.  While the cupcakes baked, the bakers ate pizza.  Of course I needed to add in some nutrition so there were trays of veggies and fruit and to keep things covid clean, serve mini bottles of water so everything can just be thrown out when done.  After the cupcakes were done, each baker was given a tray of candy to use for decorating and pastry bags filled with homemade icing in several different Halloween colors.  Plastic knives made spreading the icing each and again, completely disposable.

And now the real fun began.  Each baker got to decorate their 6 cupcakes.  They could choose any color icing but could only use their tray of toppings.  After decorating, the bakers choose ONE of their six cupcakes to be judged.  To be fair, local neighbors came over to judge since they did not know who baked what.

Prizes were given out to the winner + runner up and everyone went home with their bucket, bone stirrer, their cupcakes and a goodie bag.  It was a Spooktacular time!!

enJOY!
