This super simple granola recipe will help cut down on sugar and is perfect for Christmas morning!  Or make a batch and package it in mason jars and give out as gifts to your neighbors or mailman.  Here is a basic recipe, but have fun customizing it!

You can even make S’more granola and add mini marshmallows and chocolate chips for a perfect Santa’s helper snack!

GRANOLAserves 4 but super easy to double, triple …

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups dry old-fashioned rolled oats ( I like Bob’s Red Mill)

1 cup fresh cranberries (blueberries are great too)

3 tbsp pure maple syrup

1 tbsp melted butter (or ghee)

1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

Parchment paper

OPTIONAL – AD IN’S

nuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, unsweetened shredded coconut

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 300 degrees

Line baking sheet with parchment paper – if doubling, use 2 baking sheets

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl

Spread oat mixture evenly on prepared baking sheet(s)

Bake for 35 – 40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until dry and lightly toasted

Can be stored in air tight container for up to 1 month

For added fun, after granola is cooled, add in chocolate chips (use a high cacao chip for healthier option) and mini marshmallows for a fun kid snack)

enJOY !
