These made from scratch English muffins are so easy to make and so good, you will want to put this recipe on repeat!

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup warm milk

2 tbsp honey

2 tbsp melted butter

1 tsp quick rise yeast (I’ve used regular too)

1 egg

1 3/4 cup flour

A sprinkle of salt

DIRECTIONS

In a large mixing bowl, add warm milk, honey & butter  and whisk.

Sprinkle in yeast & let sit until foamy (about 5 min)

Whisk mixture and then add egg and whisk

Add flour, salt and stir until a dough forms

it will be very sticky.

Cover with a dish towel and place in a warm spot on your kitchen counter.  Let rise until doubled in size … about an hour  (I have left it overnight)

Using floured hands, spread dough on a floured work surface until about 3/4 inch thick. You can add a little extra flour if dough is too sticky.

Using a mason jar or biscuit cutter, cut out circles of dough. (Do not twist the jar or cutter, you do not want the sides to seal)

In a cast iron skillet on low heat, add circles of dough, cover and cook on each side for about 4-6 minutes, until cooked through.

*can be stored in air tight container for 2-3 days

enJOY!!
